Error in name on BRP

Post by Bournewayne » Wed Feb 19, 2014 12:34 pm

Hi all,

If you receive your BRP make sure you check all the details are correct including your place of birth on reverse side.

Any discrepancy in credentials noted should be brought into notice of Home office within 10 days by either of the two methods:

1) emailing BRPError@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

2)You can also send this information by post to:

Freepost RRYX-GLYU-GXHZ,
Returns Unit,
PO Box 163,
Bristol
BS20 1AB
.
Once done you will get an acknowledgment from them with the intructions for the rectification of the error.

Following is the transcript of the communication received in response to one such query:

Thank you for notifying us of a possible error on your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP).
In order for the BRP to be corrected, please send the BRP and your passport, along with a covering letter which clearly explains the reasons for returning the BRP to:

Freepost RRYX-GLYU-GXHZ
Returns Unit
P.O. Box 163
Bristol
BS20 1AB

We will return the passport under separate cover by Royal Mail Recorded Delivery. This will entitle you to a maximum of £41 compensation from Royal Mail should your passport be lost in transit. If you would prefer your passport to be sent by Special Delivery (for which the maximum compensation payable is £500) you must provide a pre-paid Special Delivery envelope large enough to contain your passport. The Home Office will not assume financial liability for any loss of documentation while they are in the care of Royal Mail.

A new BRP will be issued within 10 working days of receipt of your original BRP. This will be delivered by our couriers.

Please confirm the address you would like your passport and replacement BRP returned to.

Please note that if you used a representative when applying for your leave to remain application your BRP will be sent to your original representative’s address unless you confirm a delivery address.

You are advised not to make any travel arrangements until you have received your replacement BRP.

Thank you
BRP Error Team[/b]
