ESOL and ILR

Post by juliajules1979 » Thu Aug 26, 2010 11:50 am

Hi

My husband is due to apply for ILR in Jan 2011. He has already passed his life in the UK test, but he wantes to start an ESOL course in September to improve his English grammar.

I want to submit a letter from the college as a document to prove our cohabitation (along side all the other documents we have). The letter from the college states what course he is studying for.

Will UKBA look at his and think how did he pass his life in UK if he is still attending an ESOL course?

I know Im worrying but dont want to give then any reason to refuse.

Many thanks

It's not unusual to continue studying English on an approved course after passing the KOL test. My husband did and this wasn't queried when he successfully applied for ILR.
