I’m an EU citizen(Croatia) currently living and working in Ireland, so I’m exercising my EU treaty rights here. I’m trying to bring my wife (she’s a Turkish citizen) to join me on a short-stay C visa under the EU free movement rules. (As pointed out on the Irish Immigration website=
I’ve been going through the process but I’ve run into a bit of confusion. The document requirements seem to differ depending on where I look:
VFS Global (who handle applications in Turkey)
The Irish Immigration website
The Irish Embassy in Ankara
Each source seems to list slightly different documents and supporting evidence, and it’s not clear which one is actually definitive for this type of application. I've tried calling each place and emailing, but it is all "smoke and mirrors", everyone says that the information is outlined on the websites and I should call the other service.
We were also told that applications have to go through VFS in Turkey, as the embassy doesn’t directly handle the processing.
I’ve gathered all the documents I can but would appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through this process recently about what was actually required, whether anything extra was requested, and if there were any unexpected issues.
