change of name on romanian passport

change of name on romanian passport

can't find which section this should be posted, but here goes. My wife is Moldavian and holds a romanian passport in her maiden name. She wishes to change her name when passport expires this year. We are spending a week in Moldova in May, would it be easier to deal with this there, as get zero assistance from Romanian embassy here, and if so, does anyone know what paperwork is required.

It would be easiest in Romania.
