France Visa fee exemption for Family of European national

Post by mrproblem » Fri Jun 28, 2019 6:56 pm

Hi Guys,

A quick question.
I am an Indian citizen with Spouse visa in UK and my husband is British citizen. My 2 kids are also British citizens. My father has got UK 6 months family visitors visa from India and he will be here with us in the United Kingdom from next month. is he allowed to travel with us to Europe without visa?

according france visa site it says
You are:
The spouse;
The direct descendant or dependant under the age of 21;
The direct dependant older relative;
The direct dependant older relative or descendant of the spouse.
If the family member is a student, only the spouse and the direct descendant are concerned.

Can we use the direct dependant older relative clause.

We are happy to apply for the France visa in India, just want to check if my father is considered under 'Family of EU national' and excluded for the fee

please guide

Thanks

He needs a visa and will likely have to pay the fee.

Thank you very much for your quick reply
So in the application they are asking a question

A close member of your family is a national of the European Union, the EEA or the Swiss Confederation. *
YES/NO

If YES, we are getting these options
Family Relationship - Child/Dependent Relative/Grand child/Non-dependent relative/Other/Spouse

I believe, my father can choose Other/Non-dependent relative. Because my husband/kids are British Citizens and they are relatives for my father. If we select these options, we are getting 0 fee. But we are not sure if that is going to cause any problem to application.

We also got the proof from the tour organizers that we all booked together.

Can you please suggest which option we need to select for the above question. Can we proceed further with this option and pay zero fees or why you mentioned me that we might need to pay the fee

Thanks
