Has anyone travelled recently without a schengen visa but holds a residence card of an EU/EEA family member?

Post by ljdebenedictis » Wed Jun 26, 2019 6:22 am

I hold a residence card (Family member of an EU/EEA citizen), my husband is British, I got my residence card through Surinder Singh.

Last year I travelled to Cyprus with my husband and I didn’t apply for schengen visa as I know we can travel without it, no problems at all, I was questioned by airline staff but only took about 10-15mins, showed marriage certificate and that was it.

We are going in August 3 to Cyprus again, I’m planning to apply for schengen (its free and less paper for spouse of EU/EEA citizen), that’s not a problem, the earliest appt is in July 16, so that’s a bit tight.

If I dont get a schengen visa on time, will I be ok to travel without a visa again hence I’m asking if anyone has travelled recently without an issue. Just worried because of the brexit issues.

Thank you 😊
