Self-Employed in the Netherlands; Van der Elst visa to UK?

Post by KevinNL » Mon Apr 04, 2016 6:10 pm

Hi,

I'm a non-EEA passport holder living permanently in the Netherlands. I run my own company and I've been offered a six-month contract to work in the UK. Does anyone on the forum know whether I would be entitled to a van der Elst visa for the UK, which would allow me to continue working for my Dutch company and provide services in the UK?

Thanks,
Kevin

Yeah, been to that site already. As a self-employed person though, I do not have an employment contract with my own company, so I'm not "lawfully and habitually employed" in the legal sense (I think). An employment contract would of course be easy to execute, but seems a bit pointless unless I know for sure that the UK border agency won't look at my application and decide that I'm trying to exploit a loophole in their Tier visa system.

Thanks anyway.
