Hello,
I would appreciate any advice, particularly from those who went though a simiar process.
- I am an EU citizen, working and residing in UK with my non EU child and non EU spouse. We all applied and got our EU permanent residence cards in 2019; our permanent residence has been confirmed as of 09/2018.
- To continue to live in the UK, we also applied for EUSS in June via the mobile app. My spouse and child used their BRP for the applicatin and they weren't required to add any additional documents. I got my settled status within a couple of days, my child in about 6 weeks and no news for my spouse yet, despite many follow ups. They keep saying all is in order and no need to provide any further evidence; however we don't see why the process should be taking now close to 3 months; especially when the BRP was issued a year ago. There has been no change in circumstances since the PR was granted, no contravening event whatsoever. I worry that the application got stuck in a wrong track or whatever; and we are unable to get any information. Has anyone been in this situation? Any recommendations on next steps? I thought application for settled status with a biometric PR was a very simple and straightforward process but alas!
- We also all applied for naturalisation two weeks ago using our permanent residence status. All applications are linked to mine as the main EU sponsor. We are still trying to get an appointment at UKVCAS, absoloutely nothing available and phone lines are impossible to get through. My child and spouse had for sure given their biometrics back in 2018 when we applied to permanent residency; I was there with them at the appointment and think my biometrics were also recorded but cannot be sure as apparently EU citizens are not required to submit biometrics, so it may as well not be registered.
My question is whether we would all need to go through biometrics again if mine wasn't recorded then? Or would my spouse and child be eligible for the mobile service while I may need to attend the biometrics appointment? Would they treat all applicants the same in this case or case by case based on their records?
- Finally, we uploaded all supporting documents and are given the option to submit them, but I wonder if this is the right thing to do at this stage or should we wait to hear back from UKVCAS regarding biometrics before we click submit? Any pros and cons?
Any advice or previous similar experience would be much welcome.
Thanks in advance!
