Evidence to prove your continuous residency in the UK since becoming a permanent resident

Post by Cf_firefly » Sat Sep 14, 2024 12:54 pm

Hi Everyone ,

Can you please kindly advice on below queries based on our situation :

My wife's ILR is in her expired passport and we were asked by her employer to get BRP card and we did explain that from next year it will be eVisa but they want us to get BRP . We done the NTL ( No Time Limit ) application and we have our biometrics and documents submission at UKVCAS next weekend . In the checklist it says we need to show " Evidence to prove your continuous residency in the UK since becoming a permanent resident " and so , in my wife case , we need to show from 2012 Onwards until 2024 .

In the checklist they have given the examples as " The document(s) you provide must cover every year since you became a permanent resident. Example documents include: council tax letters; letter(s) from a GP confirming dates of attendance; letter(s) from a school or college confirming dates of attendance; electricity, gas or water bills; or letter(s) from employer(s) confirming employment "

We have below questions :

1. How many documents per year we need to show ? for every month or few per year or more ?

2. For years 2013 , 2014 and 2015 , we don't have any documents as my wife was taking care of our new born child and she was not working and the bank account we had then in Joint account ,we have since switched to other bank like 6 years ago so we don't have bank statements and With utilities which were in joint account , we moved home so we don't have them . Any help on what can we show as proof of continuous residency in UK for the years 2013 , 2014 and 2015 ?

3. We have booked documents uploading and Document scanning service in UKVCAS , We are planning to scan and upload all other documents as per checklist other than mandatory during the appointment only . So , Will they check if the relevant docs are uploaded are correct or not ?

If anyone can kindly reply , its greatly appreciated ?

I'm sure you're aware that members of this forum are unpaid volunteers. We all have family commitments and regular life activities.

Use what you have GP letters, P60, council tax, voter cards. One document every year should suffice. If you have 2 for some years, even better.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
