Evidence that you have permission to be in the country you are applying from

Hi guys,

I started my student visa application. In the application, there is a question that asks for evidence of permission to be in the country you are applying from.

I'm Palestinian and I'm applying from Italy, but my permit of stay is expired and I applied for a renewal and it needs more than three months to be ready. Can I apply using the expired permit and the permit of stay application receipt (it is a paper with bar code, username, and password, using these credentials they can see the state of my application)?

This depends on whether the Italian immigration system has an equivalent of what in the UK is called "3C leave", where your immigration permission is automatically protected and, if relevant, extended until the outcome of the new application.

If they do, you need to find out from the entry clearance post what evidence of it they need.

The permit of stay receipt in Italy is like the permit of stay I can do everything with it until I get my permit.
