Exchange Student Fees Help with Appendix 8

Post by cathyisgroovy » Mon Aug 03, 2009 3:40 am

Hello! I'm a US exchange student applying to get my Tier 4 visa to attend classes in England.

The question I have is in regards to the Appendix 8. I am an exchange student for one semester, so I pay tuition to my home school in the US and I pay the UK school nothing. (The exchange agreement between the schools are students rather than money.)

My Visa letter says "EXCHANGE 2009-10" at the top, which could be in reference to the non-existence of these fees. There is nothing else in my Visa letter mentioning fees.

Part 6 of the Appendix 8 states: "How much are the fees for your course of study?" and then afterwards "Have any of your course fees been paid?"

What do I answer for these questions? Do I say "0 Pounds" for the first question, and then for the second question say I have not paid any of the fees? Does the "EXCHANGE 2009-10" printed in my Visa letter count as evidence that I am not paying anything to the UK school?

Another unrelated question I have is my Visa letter does not have my school's Sponsor Licence Number printed on it. Will this be an issue?

Thank you all very much in advance. My biometrics appointment is on Wednesday, I need all the help I can get with this!

the lack of a license number will be an issue. Have your University send you a revised letter with their license number and have your US uni. hand you proof of fee's to be paid etc. In the appendix in the extra info section towards the end explain your situation in detail to the entry officer.
