Existing skilled worker - sponsor licence suspension

Post by ederson231 » Wed Jul 09, 2025 9:13 am

Dear Forum Members,

I am seeking clarification on the following scenario:

If a Skilled Worker’s visa expires during the period that their sponsor’s licence is suspended, are they permitted to continue working for that sponsor after the visa expiry, or must they cease employment altogether?

I understand a suspended sponsor cannot issue a new Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) but does this also apply for existing workers. If, so, what options are available to the worker at that point — for example, must they find a new sponsor and apply for a fresh Skilled Worker visa?

Thank you in advance

No, you cannot work after visa expiry, you must stop working on that date.

You need to either find a new sponsor and apply for a new visa or leave the UK before/by the expiry date.
