My experience travelling ALONE with expired EEA RC

Post by askmeplz82 » Fri Jun 19, 2015 8:19 pm

So guys want to share my experience travelling alone with UK RC, I don't recommend anyone but i managed to do it somehow. It's a huge risk but i had to travel

I took a flight with WIZZAIR to Czech Republic and next day I took a flight to Poland, I stayed in Poland some days and then took a flight to Paris. Stayed in Paris 2 days and then Eurostar to LONDON

Wizzair: Didn't check the expiry date in my RC only asked are you joining EEA family member? I said yes ( That's not true )

Immigration officer in Prague, Czech Republic : Your RC expired. are you still family member of the EU national ?
me: Yes i'm
Immigration officer in Prague: When you going back ?
Me: after 4 days
Immigration officer in Prague: She looked at passport and saw 6 old schengen stamp ( exit / entry ), i can't put stamp , you can go

Polish LOT airline : ( from Prague to Poland ) : Didn't check VISA just my passport

WIZZ AIR : ( from Poland to Paris ) asked me do you have VISA.. I am surprised why should they ask for when i am travelling to another schengen country anyway i showed them my UK expired RC and they let me board the flight

EUROSTAR : ( Paris to LONDON )

French immigration control: Saw my RC and put a exit stamp ( 1 min )

UK immigration control in Paris : Bonjour, Welcome back .. where is your wife from and where she now ? ( 30 sec )

Hello askmeplz,
One thing I not understand that you already have status problem but on other hand you wondering around Europe. Are you not afraid/not serious in regularising your status?

I'm a non EU citizen married to a British citizen intending to travel to Germany alone using my family member of a union citizen card issued by Romanian authorities, what advice would you give me? what kind of questions should I be expecting at both Romanian and German airport
do they ask for proof that you are joining your wife at Germany at the Romanian or German airport?

Thank you.

Hi askmeplz82,

I'm planning to ask my passport back from HO and travel with my expired RC card, so you didn't have any problems re-entering the Uk with your Rc card expired? Did you have to prove any other documents? Im not very confident in doing that but i think i will have to. I have applied for my PR card 3 months ago but still haven't received it. Do you think i can still travel with my RC card expired. I don't need visa to travel to the UK so the Stupid should be fine, what i'm concerned is about the immigration officers
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.
