Expired passport with valid visa.

Post by davidhugh » Wed May 04, 2011 11:06 am

Hi all, i am very new in this forum. I was wondering if you could help me out. Presently i have EEA family residence permit which is valid until december'2014, but my passport is due to expire this May'2011. So have received a new replacement passport. My valid visa is in my previous passport.

Do i have to transfer my visa from previous passport to new passport?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Transferring your visa to a new passport wrote:You do not need to transfer your residence permit to your new passport. If you choose not to transfer your permit, you should carry both your old and new passports when you travel to the UK - this will prove to our immigration officers that you have the right to be in the UK. If you cannot produce your residence permit when you arrive at our border, you may not be allowed to enter the country.
