Expiring Police Certs

Post by qp » Thu Apr 09, 2009 1:48 pm

Does anyone have experience of police certificates expiring during the period of visa processing ? Context is : I collected a lot of the supporting material for application middle of last year- but my final application was delayed until early this year for a variety of reasons. As a result the police certs ( there are 3 in my case) were 6-9 months old at time of sending - but presuming process takes > 6 months will possibly expire during processing. (ie > 1 yr old) . 2 of the 3, relate to periods more than 10 yrs ago - so not sure if age that relevant. wondering if I need to start reapplying for new ones ?

I also collected four police certificates. One from my home country. Three from US.

The one from my home country expired by the time I sent my supportive documents. But it doesnt matter. Because I have not been to my country for 6 yrs. I left my country when I was 19 and never come back since then.

Those police certificates from US expired within three months. So had to apply again.

grt - thanks for your response. just to be clear , am I right that you had to get the US ones redone because you had lived there more recently ? ie I will only have to get the police certs which apply to last year or two redone
