Extensing Visa but Decree Absolute missing

Post by Davk » Mon Nov 10, 2014 12:49 pm

Hi Can someone please help me.

My Spouse visa (under pre 09.07.2012 rules) expires on 30.11.2014 and I am making an application for extension of the visa on form FLR(M). Unfortunately I did not pass the Life in UK test so cannot apply for ILR.

All the paperwork is nearly ready but we discovered that we have a photocopy of the Decree Absolute for my husbands previous marriage which was dissolved in April 2005 and not the original. It was provided when I got my Visa in India but I cannot now find it. We have phoned the court but they say we need to apply for a copy by post and it could take about 16 days. As my Visa expires on 30.11.2014 I am worried as time is running short.

1) What should I do ?
Should I send the application with the photocopy and the original later or should I wait and hope the copy from the court
arrives in time ?
2) As the FLR(M) form is 71 pages long [11/14 version] and impossible to staple together How should it be presented ? ie Tag the papers or punch them and put in a file. Also should all the attached documents be tagged or put on separate plastic wallets etc.

Please help and thanks in advance.
