Extension Dilemma - Indian Earnings!

Post by sumith_puri » Tue Jan 19, 2010 4:47 pm

Hi Everyone,

My HSMP is due to expire by the April 2, 2010. I need to apply for extension/leave to remain atleast by the mid of next month. Kindly help me with the following:

1. Which is the right time to apply? I have read that the turnaround time is usually 3-4 weeks, considering that - will the mid of february be the right (safe) time to apply?
2. My earnings for the last 12 months have an indian component and a uk component as well. Is this fine and will the multiplication factor be applied to the indian component at the time of processing?
3. I have seen the checklist at the BIA site, but do i need to submit the same set of documents like i did for the initial application - birth certificates, marksheets, etc...
4. For the proof of funds, will a bank statement suffice?

Regards,
Sumith.

Don't understand the purpose of the poll .. because anyone who meets the qualifying criteria for extension cannot be refused.

Read the Tier 1 policy guidance which explains the documentary evidence required (initial application / extension). You should apply for extending your stay towards the end of your current leave.

Please read this carefully. Expecting answers from the experienced members on this site. I might be applying for my extension this week (quite late).

01. I was granted HSMP initially for a period of 2 years.
02. Within these 2 years, I have been in the UK for a period of 11 months, coming back as and when required.
03. 9 out of the last 12 months, my earnings have been from Indian payroll (INR).

A. My age is 27 years.
B. I have a Bachelor's Degree taught in English.
C. My earnings would exceed 45,000 £, when conversion factor is used.
D. Not Claiming Points for UK Experience
E.

Question1: Even though i am not claiming points for UK experience, can i claim the points for earnings by conversion factor - i have all payslips.

Question2: How much funds do i need to show in my bank account? Is it ok if i show this in an Indian bank account?

Question3: How exactly is the fee paid? How much is the fee for extension (Original Visa Under HSMP)?

I searched BIA website for answers to these questions, before coming here. But I was unable to find the answers. Hence request you to kindly reply - expecting a reply from the people who are experienced in getting an extension under HSMP (to Tier1) in a similar conidtion.

Thanks.
