Extension of family visa for my Mother

Post by samkma » Sun May 18, 2025 12:19 pm

My Mother arrived in the UK on a visit visa 3 years ago. Before the expiry, I applied for her to stay in the UK via the family visa route and was declined, later went for AR and judicial review, and the visa was granted for 2 years and 6 months on the basis of article 8 (ECHR) right to family life, along with a 10 year settlement in this route. Her visa expires end of June 2025, and now I need to extend the visa. I have looked online, and the forms have changed now. So, which of these forms do I use to extend her visa, which I believe will be for a further 2 years and six months?

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... -uk-flrhro

Is this the correct form, as she is an adult dependent relative?

The other forms are
FLR(M)
FLR(FP)

Thank you for informative post.

When they approved the Visa on the basis of article (8) ECHR at the judicial review, did you had to prove that your mother was financially/emotionally dependent on you.

If so would you be able to share some steps on how you managed to get the visa granted for your mother and congratulations.

Thanks.
