UK Family Visit Visa Invitation letter - Pregnancy reason

My wife is pregnant and I would like my mother to visit us during the time of delivery.I've heard from people not to give the real reason saying the visa will be rejected. I am not entirely sure if this is true. Can I mention that my wife is pregnant and I would like to have my mother to help us during pregnancy?

We used this reason for my wife's mother to visit us last year without a problem.

The key is to make clear that this is NOT childcare so the wife can return to work. You don't actually say that of course, but you make clear how long the wife will be on maternity for with a copy of the MAT1B form and letter to employer (or if not working - state it).

That will then completely overlap with the visit and make it clear it's to be around, not to take care of the child.

My Mother-In-Law has got her visitor visa last week. We hd mentioned my wife's pregnancy in the invitation letter. We had also submitted letter from midwife along with other documents. Mention something like 'I would like my mother to share happy moments of new born with us'.

I m on a student visa. Does anyone knows what type of visa applicable if i want to bring my in-laws here for my wife's pregnancy. I m confused whether it is a family visitor, or general visitor visa ?? Bcos the family visitor section says that the family you are visiting should be permanent settled in the UK. I m a student though, which means i m not permanently settled. Can any one help please ?

Post posted once three years ago - wouldn't hold your breath, plus visit visas are a lot tougher to get now...
