Family Visitor visa for partner and child

Hi,

I am currently on Tier 2 general visa and apply for my partner and my son visa under family visitor category for their 4months visit to uk.

Can you please let me know if it is ok to apply under this category? or do we have to apply for tier2 dependent visa which is not appropriate because they will be only coming for 4 months and we will be going back after that period.

Your advise will be much appreciated

They need to apply general visitor visa.

Family visit visa applies to those who want to visit their family who are settled in the UK, British Nationals, granted Asylum or under humanitarian protection in the UK
