UK Family Visitor Visa from Chennai India

My in-laws recently got UK Family Visitor Visa. I thought I will share some info on this forum as I find this forum is excellent and helped me a lot.

My Father in law and Mother in law applied two separate applications with the following support documents.

From my end (All docs includes mine and my wife’s)

• Copy of Passport (British Passport - front page)
• Letter from Mortgage provider
• Council Tax Statement
• Six Months Current Account Statement
• Six Months Pay Slips
• Employment Confirmation Letter
• Copy of MAT B1 certificate
• Stocks and Shares Statement/letter
• Invite letter (joint invite letter)

All originals submitted with my MIL application and photo copies submitted with my FIL application.

From my In-laws side (all photo copies)

• Land registration certificate
• My FIL’s payslip
• Bank statements – Six months
• Wealth certificate by Chartered accountant for both my MIL and FIL


Applied in the new office in Egmore Chennai; actually booked two different appointments but they were told that they can go together to one counter. It took 10 working days to get the Visa and we have opted for the SMS status info option (Rs 102 each). We had prompt SMS status on every stage.
