Family or visitor visa

Hi Need help

I m in a dependent tier 2 visa in UK. I m a dependant of my husband. Both of our visa empires on Jan 20, 2013. However we may work on extending our visa in the month of december. I m pregnant and I need my mom to come to UK from India in a visitor or family visa for 6 months from Nov 2012 to April 2013.
Will our visa make a problem as it expires on Jan 2013 and we need to get a visa for my mother on november.
Also let us know what all the documents need to be sent for both these visa.
