Fee waiver for adult British Citizenship application

Post by alialhoni » Mon Jul 28, 2025 11:02 pm

Hi

I have ILR based on skilled worker route, and I want now to apply for British citizenship. Is it possible to apply for fee waiver for my British Citizenship application?

Thanks

There is no fee waiver option for naturalisation applications.

Naturalisation is an entirely voluntary application (i.e. by that time the applicant already has ILR and their right to reside in the UK is unaffected by the naturalisation application) and there is no time limit by which is it must be done. People have lived on ILR status for decades without naturalisation and hence you would be expected to live on ILR and save up for the naturalisation application.
