Fees to lodge appeals are being introduced in October 2011

Post by IMMIGRATION LAWYER » Fri Jul 15, 2011 2:55 pm

The Ministry of Justice has decided to charge the fees of £80.00 for an appeal on the papers and £140.00 for an oral hearing from October 2011. Note that this only will be applicable to the appeals lodged to the First Tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) (FTT IAC). The proposal to charge fee for Appeals lodged to the Upper Tier Tribunal (FTT IAC) has been withdrawn.

One interesting point is that a power will be introduced for the Tribunal to award costs to successful applicants up to the amount of any fees paid.
