Hi there , i am applying for fiancee visa to UK. I just flew back to california to apply and am in the midst of gathering everything together. I'm afraid about the interview that i may be asked to attend. Does everyone get called for an interview or what can i do to avoid being called into an interview? I dont believe our case has any red flags as I'm 24 and my fiance is 28, I'm from America and i have loads and loads of pictures and phone bills and cards etc.
I am however very scared that when i do go to the interview they won't see a ring on me. We're broke right now and Ben (my fiance) wants to get me a fabulous ring that i deserve but he's been too busy supporting while i've been in england with him. Also ...he never got down on one knee and proposed..he's so stubborn, he wanted to wait and still wants to wait (now for what we already want to get married , no surprise) because he doesnt want to do it without a ring! ugh! stubborn man...but nevertheless- marriage is something we always talked about and FINALLY he had the enough money and wanted to be together properly and he bought me a ticket back home and are applying. I think that the clearance officer may ask me how my fiance proposed and i won't know how to answer it. Today my fiance and i got ito a big fight because he wants me to lie and say that he proposed while we were on holiday together 6 months ago, and i don't feel comfortable with that...i want to be honest. Why cant i say the truth: that we both were madly in love and just always told eachother that we wanted to marry and we finally decided that the time was right ...why should i have to make up a story saying how he got down on one knee?
please somone can you advise on whether this would raise an eyebrow with immigration? we are totally genuine and we dont ever want to be apart but this i do not want to make it harder for us.
many thanks in advance.
