US Fiance Visa

My fiance and I will be married in the US next Spring, then we will move to the UK. He will return to England after the wedding and I will stay in the US until I'm ready to move. I am an American citizen, he is a British citizen.

My question is - if we do not plan to live in the US, but only marry here, do we still need a K-1 Visa? Or can we marry on a visitor visa?
