My fioncee came to the UK without a visa

Post by garfast81 » Thu Sep 10, 2009 11:18 pm

Hi,

I an english and I proposed to my fioncee who is Mexican just before I left for England in January 2009. We then booked the church and the reception for august 2009 in Mexico as that is where we wanted to get married.

Vanessa came to the UK to visit a friend and to also stay with me for 5 months. We never intended to get married in the UK so didnt get the visa. The only reason I ask is because we are now applying for a spouse visa and if the immigration officer rings up the churchl where we got married he will see that we had already made wedding plans in Mexico before vanessa came to the UK.

SO my question is, should we have applied for a fioncee visa so Vnaessa could visit England even though we didnt get married and never planned to get married in the UK?

Thanks

Mark

A fiancée visa would be what she would apply for ..... in order to get married in the UK! But you plan to get married in Mexico, so no problem. Just apply for the spouse visa, and stop worrying. ECOs considering visa applications have better things to do than phone Church officials ..... stop worrying!
