First time applying British Passport but need to travel

Post by dancerJWKS » Wed Aug 15, 2012 12:10 am

Hi all

I would be grateful if anyone could help me on this.

I got my British Citizenship a month ago via Registration. Where I grew up allows Dual Citizenship, so I have both the British National Overseas (BNO) passport and a HKSAR passport. I came to UK for work with my BNO and it has my ILR in it.

I want to submit my first British passport application next week. I am leaving my current job end of this month and I will be starting my new job mid October. So I have travel plans in September. Do you think that I can travel in September even I send off my BNO passport as I can come back to the UK with my HKSAR passport? Will I have problem getting out the country as my HKSAR passport does not have the stamp which shows the date I last entered to the country?

You are required to send ALL valid passport (including foreign ones) with the applications. You should get the passports back in 2-3 weeks.
