am in a fix

Post by lili123 » Mon Sep 26, 2011 5:57 am

Pls my name is e******** w******* am a Nigerian and came into the Uk 2004 and my hubby came in 2006 we came into the Uk for fear of our life as we got married without the consent of our parents because of different faiths the we are frm. To cut the long story we have 2kids in the Uk, in March 2011 on a faithful day my hubby came bck frm a friends pls and when he came bck was complaining of pains in the eyes and had to go and sleep but at 12 midnite we couldn't sleep as the pain was terrible we waited ti morning but by morning he couldn't see with his eyes again we went to the AE and was immediately sent to Moorfields hospital there he had completely lost his sight. Well just because we do not have the right to work or reside in the UK I was directed by a friend to solicitor which later I found out wasn't a solicitor but an adviser after she had collected money in helping me file a case for me to stay with my hubby and my kids on the humanitarian ground that the kids were born in the Uk. as I can't go bck to nigeria with my hubby as he has lost his sight I might be killed that I used voodoo for him but unfortunately I was refused and not granted any appeal and since then have being looking for a group that could help me or stand for me until I read of the zambrano case. And after going through the case I am confused if I can fall under the category as its stated british citizen and some solicitor insists my kids are not citizens pls what can I do. Pls help me.

Your solicitor is right, your children are not British, they're Nigerian. I don't think the Zambrano case will help you. What age are the children?

Go to your local law center and seek advice. http://www.lawcentres.org.uk/lawcentres/ or alternatively go here http://legaladviserfinder.justice.gov.u ... rSearch.do
