FLR for child now over 18

Post by Milo'd » Wed Aug 07, 2019 11:23 am

Hi everybody,

For the FLR financial requirements for a wife and a dependant child now over the age of 18 I was expecting it to be £22,400 (18,600 + 3,800 for 1 dependant child, same as initial visa) however this doesn't seem to be the case.

Upon filling out the online form correctly, the financial requirements state for both applicants it automatically displays only £18,600? As a test I changed my stepdaughters birthday to seem that she's only 17 and then the financial requirement jumped up to £22,400.

Q1. Is this a bug on the online system, do I need £22,400 or £18,600 for wife and stepchild now over 18? My employment letter should state the time period the required level has been met.

The list of documents required at the end of the application doesn't state that my step daughter needs an English language test (for my wife, Yes)

Q2. Does a child turning 18 since arriving in UK not required to pass the English language test?

Thanks for any advice
