FLR(HSMP) - Student & Awaiting Graduation

Post by vivsap » Fri Jul 13, 2007 6:32 pm

I am student who will graduate in Sep 2007. I have got my HSMP approval letter already and want to apply for FLR(HSMP) within UK

The issue is that even though I have passed the required number of courses in order to graduate. I will be awarded degree and the certificate only in September 2007.

I wrote to Home office and this is the requirements as per their email:

****************************
As per the HSMP guidelines:
The letter from the institution should be on the official headed paper of the institution and clearly show:

the applicant’s name
the title of award
the date of award, confirming that it will be awarded
the date that the certificate will be issued

If the letter does not state what qualification HAS BEEN ‘granted’, ‘conferred’ or ‘awarded’ it cannot be considered as suitable evidence.

Applicants should also supply their academic transcript, this should clearly show:

the applicant’s name
the institution awarding the degree
the course details
confirmation that the qualification HAS BEEN awarded.
********************

My university is ready to provide me a letter stating that:

Mr XX has passed all of the assessments which have been graded and returned to date. Therefore, based on his academic performance so far I fully expect Mr XX to be awarded the MSc Accounting degree on September 7th, 2007

My university can not state on the letter that the degree "has been" awarded before September 7th

So my questions on this forum are -

1) Can I apply for FLR with a letter from my university which does not say that I have graduated but states that I am "expected" to graduate in Sep 2007

2) I have got a job offer to start in Aug last week and my employer does not want to sponsor work permit? Is there a work around this limitation? I can not wait till my graduation date to apply for HSMP as it will be too late for my job start date.

3) Has anybody applied under the same situation as mine (i.e. before graduations)? What has been your experience?

4) Any recommendations? options?

Thanks in advance. Please help!!

FLR within UK (before graduation)

Post by vivsap » Fri Jul 13, 2007 7:45 pm

I talked to a lot of people and most of the people seem to prefer applying from outside UK for Entry Clearance.

Can somebody who has applied for FLR within UK and before graduation, share thier expereinces?

Thanks
