FLR(M) – Tenancy Agreement Expired, Now on Periodic Tenancy (Email Only)

Post by josh2914 » Mon Sep 29, 2025 8:07 pm

Hi Everyone,

I’m currently preparing documents for my spouse visa extension (FLR(M)). Our tenancy agreement expired in 2024 and we are now on a rolling/periodic tenancy.

The housing agent has refused to issue a new tenancy agreement and instead confirmed by email that we are on a periodic tenancy.

My questions are:

Will the Home Office accept this type of email confirmation from the letting agent as valid proof of housing/accommodation?

Or is it necessary to have a new formal tenancy agreement drawn up?

If anyone has had a similar experience with periodic tenancy and what evidence was accepted by the Home Office, I’d really appreciate your advice.

Thanks in advance!

Hi yes i did it and it was accepted. Your tenancy agreement must have a wording that after this time it will be a periodic tenancy and the rent is going from your bank account. Just for extra clarity and your own satisfaction you can print your agency email and submit it with your tenancy agreement.
