fmrs???

hello everyone,
i have sent my fmrs application instead of eea2.then i realise i should have apply for eea2 so i rang up home office and explained that i have applied fmrs instead of eea2 but she said she cant help so i jus need to wait for reply from homeoffice.today i have received acknowledegement letter mentioned i have applied for residence card.i am just wondering. how its possible if i applied for fmrs not eea2...????.because fmrs for a residence stamp not for residence card..
