EC For Dependents

Kindly help on these issues:

1). Is the time constraint of 3 months for EC from the date of approval letter applicable to the dependants also or only to the HSMP primary applicant ?

2). If I approach Visa Office for EC of my spouse and my child , I find a lot of detailed information required to be filled in the VAF form related to Child Care, Reception etc. What are all these? Is there a issue in getting EC for family with child even if we are booking a hotel / showing accomodation letter from friend or the best part would be to get EC for me first and then go for EC for my dependents after getting a job , rental accomodation in UK.

Kindly help me on the same.

Using your numbering :-

1. Only to the HSMP applicant ... not the family. That is it is totally OK, if desired, for just the HSMP applicant to apply for EC initially and the rest of the family to apply later.
   
   Alternatively they could all apply at the same time, the HSMP applicant coming to the UK first, to be following say a month or so later by the rest of the family.
2. The form VAF1 has been redesigned to cover a tightening up on unaccompanied children coming to the UK. Given, I am assuming, no child of yours will make an unaccompanied journey, I would not worry about those additional questions .... although, as relevant, they should be answered.
   
   Initial accommodation? As long as it is suitable for the family, no problem.
