BC for kid to ILR parents – Good decision or regretted later

Post by LoveZixin » Fri Dec 19, 2014 11:00 am

I am about to apply for BC on MN1 form for my 2 year however having nightmares whether it is a good decision or not. I came across this forum so here I am asking your feedback whether it turned out to be good decision for you or you regretted.
I know once BC the kid will have access to wide variety of knowledge, no more hassle in going to different countries, will have more chances of getting job in Europe, USA and Canada, will receive better care from authorities if BC e.g. hospital, council, schools etc. you know what I mean.
If we decide no for BC then no visa requirement to meet grannies in India, I know POI and OCI are there for BC but kid will not have that until one of the parent is BC; don’t have to pay huge NRI fees If we ever decide kid to have education in India; might not get the citizenship later if they change rules.
This nightmare is part because I hear people move addresses for better education of kids as some schools underperform. Some people send kids to private schools which I just can’t afford. The current increase in Uni fees seems unaffordable now and what the situation will be after 20 years.
I wrote regretted because once it is done it cannot be changed until the child is 18.
So what do you think was it turned out to be good decision or not? Thanks!

moved to other countries - this has nothing to do with British Citizenship.
Search other countries forum - there were few similar discussions earlier but ultimately it's a personal choice.

i dont agree, may be something haunts you, like home sick, assets back home or missing families, mom and dad or something like that. but IMO its better to stay here. this place is better than india.you will realise some time later while your children grow up. please dont regret everything will be alright.

you can apply for children PIO , you dont need to be a british national for that.
