HM forces settlement visa or General Settlement visa

Post by Ellabertelle » Tue Apr 10, 2018 9:07 pm

I am from the USA. My husband is originally from a Commonwealth Caribbean island, who spent over 5 yrs in the royal navy, but was medically discharged last November after two surgeries.
Since he spent over 5 yrs in the UK military, he attained British citizenship last December. I am looking to apply for a settlement visa to move over to the UK.
I am confused about whether, I should just do the normal settlement -wife visa, or the settlement visa option of "family member of discharged member of the HM forces" since it has not been more than two years since he was discharged?

Also, do I have to take the life in the UK test?
Do I complete Appendix 2 or Appendix 2(armed forces)?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
