Forgot to send my daughter application in same pack

Post by DRPARDHU » Thu Apr 23, 2009 2:52 pm

Hi All ,
I had recently applied for extension of my HSMP Visa along with my daughter and wife as dependants on April 15th
I had no problems in filling out the application but i made a mistake when sending it over i.e , i had sent off all the supporting doccuments , passports along with my apllication form and my wife's application but missed out my daughters application form in the pack which i posted by special delivery that too on saturday after the last post.

Once i am back to my home i realised that my daughter application is left behind which shot my blood pressure up. Being a bank holiday monday i had to wait until tuesday morning and i managed to speak to Home office personal who gave me advice to post the application in a seperate cover with a covering letter explaining my mistake, and he advised me to wait until an acknowledgement letter comes to me by post . he also mentioned that i could contact the Home office personnel with the PBS reference No
I went to the post office where i posted my initial appplication pack. to my luck in terms of good or bad the initial application is still there as it had not been taken for delivery on saturday.
I pleaded with the royal mail People to hand over the appliation pack which they denied saying thats is against their rules and regulations .

So i did post my left over Daughter application on the same day with a cover letter as the home office personnel advised and also with note on the top of the envolepe requesting to merge the two applications .

Two days later i got an acklnowledgement letter saying that application is recieved . I realised form my bank acoount that payments had been taken for my daughters application as well .

As initially advised by Home fofice personel, i tried to contact them again yesterday with the PBS reference number . But this time i had been told a different story altogether . They say that they cant check whether the two applications have been merged or not and they cant put me to the case worker to find out . It seems i had to wait for six weeks before i make another call to them and moreover its at the discreetion of the case worker whether the two will be merged or not

I am very much tensed at this moment as my visa will be xpring on May 9th 2009 .and dont know what to do .
I want to get an advise from you all and see if there is away to combat my problem.

I look forward for an advise from any body it at all thay experienced a similar problem.

Thanks for going through my long detailed post.

Hi pardha, very sorry to hear that. As I understand all supporting documents are in initial pack and your daughter's application is missing which you have sent seprately on the same day. Well HO are pretty good in linking the documents but in your case the reference number was not provided with the missing application. As HO receive thousands of application, it might be difficult for them to figure out the missing application without the reference number.

So according to me send another application(your daughter's) with the covering letter and reference number. Once they receive it, call HO and ask them to link it with your main pack.

This is my advice but please wait for seniors to comment.

Yes... as the HO advisor VK82 suggested you.. wait till u receive ur reference letter in next 5-7days and than quote that no. in ur cover letter and than send the application and letter..

good thing is that becos the application received wil not be worked on till few weeks and since u might have mentioned in ur cover letter in applicatoin that u a applying for you and 2dependents.. they can link it back and u shd be fine...

Hi tvn_ramesh & VK82,

Thank you for your replies.
As VK82 suggested i did call home office once again on friday and managed to speak to a kind person who took my HO reference no and checked the status of my application. He said that as of friday, My application had not ben linked yet and he is so good that he took my daughters details and traced her application & gave me the reference no allotted to her .He advised me to not to send another application as they already had my daughters application with them.

He in turn suggested to send another correspondence addressed to senior case worker quoting my Application reference no and My daughters Reference no with a request to merge the two applications. I did send another correspondence as per his advice and currently awaiting their response.

Surprisingly , even though my daughter's application had been alloted a different reference no, i havent recieved any confirmation of it as i recieved for my application (which contained a reference no) .
Anyway, i had done what all i can do and i will wait & see what happens next.

Pardha,

I did the same mistake i.e didn't send the dependent application along with mine.I have reailized very lately infact after my approval. So when i called the home office they said since it is processing state i can't send it.

One of my friend did the same mistake but he reailzed quickly and called the home office since his application was yet to process they asked him to send the application and home office very well linked with his application.he recently got the visa for him and dependents also.

So don't worry home office will link up the application and processes it.I hope u have sent a detailed covering letter.

Thank you sashi. Thats a very good reassuring message and I am a relieved person now particularly after knowing that your friend had the similar problem and the fact that they got their visas recently. I did send a detailed covering letter explaining my mistake initially and later another one with my reference no & my daughter's as well. Hopefully the home office does the same to my application as they did to your friend.

Thank you aspirant09 & tvn_ramesh for your support. By this incident i reckon that home office would be considerate when dealing with our applications.
