Form AN for naturalisation advice

Post by iskathi » Tue Aug 25, 2020 2:22 pm

Hi,
My wife is currently filling in the application form for her naturalisation as a spouse.

Under the section for 'Current Partner', it asks if your partner is 'Also known by another name'. I changed my surname more than 20 years ago for legitimisation purposes, from my mother's to my fathers surname. When I became naturalised years ago, it is noted under 'Name if different from birth'. I have never used my mothers surname since.
Do we still need to add it to the application as it is never used for anything as I am not known by that name anymore and haven't been for 20+ years.
Many thanks.

If the application form asks for such a name just state it - it's not a trick question. You are expected to answer all questions to the best of your knowledge.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.
