Form SET(O) question 5.2

Post by hollybarker » Wed Feb 26, 2014 2:37 pm

Hello,
I'm applying for ILR and am unsure how to answer question 5.2. I am applying as a Tier 2 migrant as I have been here 5 years and am sponsored by work. My husband (a UK resident) pays the mortgage on our house and I contribute some money each month towards mortgage, bills, etc. For question 5.1, I ticked d) owned or rented by a relative or friend. However, question 5.2 asks - do you or your partner, or both, pay any rent or mortgage for your home? If I tick yes do I only specify how much I pay? Or do I have to mention the whole monthly mortgage repayments we both pay? I'm assuming "your partner" only refers to someone applying on the same form? My husband is british and so not on the form with me.
I hope someone can help me answer this question.
Thanks!

Nothing stupid in asking question. I would say, put down your share of mortgage payment and you would be just fine! I am applying with my other half and as a main applicant I have jolted down full monthly mortgage amount in 5.2
I do not think this bears much importance on outcome of your application.

I have a similar question regarding 5.1.

I live with my British boyfriend and pay £200 to him directly for bills etc as well as £390 to a join account for food, council tax etc. We currently live in his brothers apartment as my boyfriend is buying a new apartment.

Shall I tick privately rented? Or other?

I most appreciate your time taken to reply.

I think you should go ahead with Option D [Owned or rented by relative or friend] and list your share (that you pay) in 5.2
Hope this helps.
Best x
