Can anyone tell me the latest UK format of preparing the resume. any website or guidelines?

Can anyone point to a resume writer services in UK that charges reasonably? I am finding that many professional services charges upwards GBP 200..

I saw something on www.totaljobs.com sometimes ago for 125GBP, they were also offering free covering letter along with. I don't know if the offer is still on.
