Free entry to Switzerland

Hi, All

Can any one guide me please, , ,

One of my friend have HSMP for 3 years, and he wants to visit some european countries.
Some one told us that their are some countries where Uk HSMP holder has free entry to that country for tourism not more than 30 days durition, i mean no visa is required at all.

What about switzerland? and some other countries?

Switzerland used to allow permit free entrance to ppl holding UK VISA for more than 6 month length. Not any more.

it was an old story not anymore

Until end 2008 yes for Switzerland but now it has imposed the Schengen treaty and such requires a visa for non-UK passport holders.

it would depend on your nationality, not if u hold a uk passport

as an aussie, i entered switzerland late december and again in january without visas

Entry for UK long term visa has been closed since 12th Dec 2008, when Swz joined Schengen countries.
