Free NHS Prescriptions = Public funds ?

Free NHS Prescriptions = Public funds ?

I am working in the UK on an HSMP Visa along with my family.
My baby gets free medicines from chemists which are actually charged to the NHS. When I apply for FLR, would this be considered as drawing from public funds ?

No.



It is just like saying - You use the London Underground or London Buses which are subsidised by Government - so you should pay a higher fee as its public funds that mean you have reduced fares :roll:

NHS is maintained/suported by YOUR NI contributions

Public funds means only the funds listed in the Immigration Rules.

Not necessary!

Forexample if you are in the UK as a visitor and used the NHS (in a non-emergency situation) - you could be classified as getting public funds!

That is absolutely not correct. You may be sued by the NHS but definitely you did not have recourse to public funds as NHS treatment is not on the exhaustive list of public funds.

Fair play - NHS is not listed as a public fund in immigration rules
