I don't agree as I once applied for a Schengen visa in Austria embassy last summer (although refused) but I didn't pay for it even though I intended to travel alone.EUsmileWEallsmile wrote:If you got a free visa under the terms of directive 2004/38/ec, then you are supposed to be accompanying or joining your wife. If not, you may need a visa in your own right - pay the fee and submit the required evidence.
The fact is that the visa guidance states that those travelling alone are not covered by the directive. The OP may or may not have problems. He will not be a person subject to a "minimum check" and will be required to have accommodation, sufficient funds, insurance, etc.bluecole2 wrote:I don't agree as I once applied for a Schengen visa in Austria embassy last summer (although refused) but I didn't pay for it even though I intended to travel alone.EUsmileWEallsmile wrote:If you got a free visa under the terms of directive 2004/38/ec, then you are supposed to be accompanying or joining your wife.
