French visa application process

Hi All

Can someone please advise me on the process of getting a frence schengen visa
I am a nigerian passport holder with settlement visa, i attended a visa appointment at the french embassy knowing that there would be a 4week delay or 2weeks if a special delivery envelope is provided.

The french visa officer returned my passport and asked me to write my address on an evelope he provided and said they would be in contact with me once their checks are completed, has anyone had an experience similar to this. I was also given queueing ticket number.


Anyone know how long it takes for the embassy to contact the applicant back

Will I have to book another appointment?

i had a similar experience. i applied for my visa on 11th may for travelling on the 30th of may. i got my passport back as well as a ticket. i received a letter dated the 18th (i had addressed the envelope at the embassy) saying i need to collect my visa on the 27th.
