EC from Pune instead of Bombay?

Post by ashishashah » Sat Sep 13, 2008 1:51 pm

Hello,

My infant daughter would require HSMP dependent visa from India. We stay in Bombay, but it seems that UK embassy will be closed for 3 weeks till OCt...I cannot wait for long as i need to apply for my FLR in oct..
So can i apply for EC from Pune VFS instead of Bombay VFS??
Would it create any problem??

Any1 else who has a view on this??

Whether you apply to VFS Mumbai or VFS Pune doesn't matter because applications received at both these VFS offices (including others centers in west India) are sent to BDHC Mumbai for processing.

You need to check with BDHC Mumbai directly whether visa applications submitted in West India during this period will be processed by other BHC offices in the country or will they gather dust until the BDHC Mumbai reopens?

BDHC Mumbai is reopening on 30-Sep, and if you have to apply in Oct. then why worry?

Slightly off-topic!

With your current leave expiring in November 2008, have you checked with BHC if they will issue a dependent EC for your child for such a short duration (4-6 weeks) and so close to your current leave expiring?? Not sure if people have achieved something similar in the recent past, but 2-3 years ago BHC would have refused EC on the ground that main applicant doesn't have enough time duration left on his current leave.

Don't know if it is do-able but why not apply for your own extension from UK, and when that's granted apply for dependent EC for both your wife and child from India? All you end up doing is spend an extra 17K (for your wife's EC) !!
