Fund maintinance in Indian Account for my UK Born Child

Post by raghut29 » Wed May 28, 2014 2:38 pm

Hi All,

I need some advice on the Tier 1 General Dependent application for my Child who was born in UK. Here is my Case.

My son was born on May 9th 2014. I am on Tier 1 General Visa and been here for around 3 years 7 months. I am planning to send my Wife and my newborn to India in July 1st week. They might return after 6 months and I want to apply the Tier 1 General Dependant Visa for my Child in India VFS Office (Hyderabad). I am not applying here in UK for my Child as it seems the application fee is £1607 here in UK and 87000 if we apply from India. So it seems cheaper in India. I have not stayed for more than 3 months anywhere outside UK during my 3yr 7 months.

Having explained above here are my questions.

1) Can I show funds for my Child in my India Savings Account? I have not change my account to NRE or NRI account and its still a resident account. I have another NRE account as well with another bank. I can maintain here if resident account is a problem. But the main quesion is can I show funds in Indian account while I am still in UK.

2) I am applying for Entry Clearance only for my Child. My wife already has her Visa extended along with me when I last extended my Visa. This time I am applying only for my Child in India. Do I need to show funds to support myself, my wife and my child also? Or is it enough to show only for the Child?

Thanks
Raghu

1) Yes, you can show amounts in accounts with Indian bank. Make sure it has your full name, account number, branch name for verification if they want to have any. It would be an added advantage to have a letter on the bank's stationery or bank letter head with signature and stamp. Also try to get the account statements covering your maintenance period stamped with official bank stamp on each page.

Most importantly check financial institutions which have been highlighted by UKBA for verification purposes:

2) Check below for maintenance of funds for dependents applying outside UK
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... 4-14_2.pdf

Technically, you should have £900 + £600 when applying for your child in this case, but eventually it would be better if you show £900 for yourself, £600 wife + £600 for son for both of your dependents for consecutive 90 days without any break even for a single day.

pm me if you have any more queries....
