Funds in account for post study visa

Post by edu_fred » Sun Oct 10, 2010 9:13 pm

Hi, i have just finished my studies in the Uk then i went to france to be with my girlfriend. My visa expires on the 31st of october so its too late to apply in the uk. My plan is to apply here in france, the funds in the account is 2800 if u applying from outside the uk, i plan to put the equivalent of 2800 into my french account for 3 months starting now so i can apply in january or february. My question is would it matter if i take the account to them in the application and they just see 2800 in the account for over 3 months without transactions. I plan to put the money in an account i dont really use. Also, is it more difficult if you are applying from outside (If u meet all the requirements) or are your chances the same as if you are applying from the uk (if u meet the requirements). I really cant afford to loose my uk residency, Uk is home for me, i lived there for 6 years.

Thanks

It should not effect your application, what really HO is interested in is to see that you hold that money in your account for the required period.

What visa do you have to live in France? If visitor's visa, then you cannot apply for EC from there.

Do you have residency? If so, you're risking losing it if you're intending to live in France for long periods.

I think you misunderstood my question :)

You said that you can't afford to lose your UK residency, as you've made a life here, but you're now living in France. What I meant by my question above was do you have UK residency at the moment? I'm doubting so if you're applying for PSW, but just wanted to clarify based on your wording above. If you do, you're risking it, by living in France, if you ever wanted to apply for UK Citizenship. :?

Thanks. I keep remembering my questions one after the other. Concerning the funds, does the 3 months mean they want it up to the date of application as i am gonna apply in person, or can i have it in my acct from 1st of nov till 1st of feb wich makes it 3 months then apply on the 7th of feb or there abt. In other words can i make my application some days after the satement has been printed?
