Further Leave to Remain Visa Delay for my Son

Post by coolguycp1 » Tue Jan 12, 2010 11:47 am

I had submitted an application for Further Leave to Remain for my newborn son who was born in UK in Sep 2009. The completed FLR (O) form along with all the required original documents and cheque of £465 towards the fees of the application form were sent together by Royal Mail Special Delivery on 23rd November 2009.

I received a letter from UK Border Agency dated 25th November 2009 acknowledging the receipt of the application form. The fees of £465 was drawn from my bank on 1st December 2009.

It has been 7 weeks now from when my application was received at Home Office. According to the Home Office website, 66% of applications are processed within 4 weeks of submission. My application has now gone over this 4 week period. I am urgently in the need of the visa for my son to make urgent travel plans.

Can anyone please advise the general processing time for such cases and posts recent timelines for FLR(O) visa for dependent children if they have been in the same situation as me?

Thanks
