Gap between CoS and EC Visa validity end date

Hi,

Just wanted to check on a small thing. I had applied for a Tier 2 general visa based on a CoS whose validity end date is 23 Oct. 2014 i.e. for 3 years. However i have received the Entry clearance visa with validity end date as 23 Nov, 2013 i.e. for 2 years only. Is this normal?

I thought usually one would get EC visa whose validity end date is 1 month after validity end date of CoS. I was expecting a validity date of 23 Nov, 2014 i.e. for 3 years.

hi,

i have applied from abroad. I had Tier 1 general migrant visa valid until Jan, 2012. This visa became invalid when i came to UK last year on Tier 2 ICT. My Tier 2 ICT was valid until April, 2011. Since this visa expired in April, 2011 i came back to my home country and then my sponsor gave a CoS based on which i applied for this current Tier 2 general migrant visa.

I have one more question. Will it be possible for me after 2 years to apply for extension of this visa for 1 year more while i am in UK, since my CoS is valid for 3 years?
