T2 General Extension Help

Post by magelenn » Sun Oct 19, 2014 1:44 am

To whom it may refer,

I would really appreciate if someone can guide me please.

I am a holder of Tier 2 General work permit valid until early next year. I am going to continue with the same employer/salary/job title/responsibilities hence my employer wants to extend my T2 Work Permit.

I have to get an unrestricted CoS before applying for a T2 visa extension and my Director who is responsibe for issuing new CoS is going away for a long break, hence i need to check as soon as possible please whether getting a new CoS will be a quick procedure involving Assigning a new CoS via SMS by filling in my info or it will take again up to 3/4 month to get CoS number?

My company got A rating and allowance to get 1 restricted CoS which they assigned to me two years ago - do you think they can assign a new CoS online or will have to apply and wait for 3 months?

Thank you very very much!

Maggie

if the company doesn't have a CoS allocation for the current year (Apr 14 - Apr 15) they have to apply for one via the SMS. This may take a few weeks but can also be quicker. Once they have the allocation the CoS can be assigned immediately by a Level 1 user.

Manci, thank you very much! So I guess if in SMS there is no option to Assign CoS that means the sponsor doesn't have a CoS allocation for the current year.

Do u know what information will be required from the sponsor to apply for CoS allocation via the SMS? My sponsor is going away and asked me to help him research the information. Last time we were asked to do company audits and provide financial details and it took 3.5 months to get CoS allocation.

Thank you so much!

a Level 1 user has to log into the SMS and request an allocation increase.

The only information needed is the number of allocations requested and the reason - in your case "extension of leave of sponsored migrant Mr X"

What took 3.5 months to process was probably the sponsor licence application which is not the same.

Manci thank you very much, we have received today the allocation and applied two weeks ago! My Level 1 User will have to assign me the CoS - may i please check what documents are needed from my end to provide to assist the Level 1 user?

thanks,

Your personal information like, name, date of birth, place of birth, nationality, passport no, issue date, expiry date, current address.
But more importantly the information which is decided by employer like job code, duties, start date, expiry date etc.

Be mindful, that the new start date on your new cos needs to be next date of expiry of your current cos (this is not the same as expiry of your current leave as leave is generally given 15 days more than expiry of cos).
Also he can only assign the start date of max 3 months in future and you will have to apply within 3 months of issue of cos

Hi Meggie, do you know if the CoS request made was an urgent or standard request?

Many thanks

Manci thank you! Ann, from what my Director (Level 1 User) said, there was only 1 option to request allocation, and it wasn't too long till he got an email confirming 1 allocation,

Thanks,
M

Manci, can you please advise where does Level 1 user fill in the above details? As i was told on the page "Request additional CoS or CAS" there is no option to add all the details? And he couldnt find the option in SMS where to ad details?

Also can you please advise about the CoS expiry date? We dont know what what the current CoS expiry? My current visa is until April 2015, so should i ask for CoS start day in January 2015.

Thank you very much,
Rose

My current visa is until April 2015, so should i ask for CoS start day in January 2015.

Thank you very much and sorry for so many questions. My Sponsor is applying today and i'm really worried we get the CoS number before my leave expires since there are a lot of holidays coming up and my Sponsor is off on holiday for few weeks next week.

I will, if i may ask the last question, do you know where i can find the latest updated list of all documents required to apply for the Tier 2 extension? I don't want to miss something out and apparently there are many versions to the guidance. As soon as i get the new CoS number i'm applying for an extension. At the moment from my research i've made, I have to prepare:

1. Online application from https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... orm-tier-2
2. Original passports + passport sized photos
3. Employer Unrestricted CoS number
4. Payslips of my salary for the last 6 months
5. Bank statements showing at least £1K in savings continuously over the last 90 days
6. Original University of Manchester Certificate
7. Payment for application
8. Post documents secured and signed for, tracked postage with a pre-paid envelope for return

Thank you very much,
Kind regards,
Meggie

4 and 5 not required for extension applications, 6 not required if you met the English requirement for your present visa.
Ask for a printout of the CoS and check if all the data in it is correct

Dear Mansi, i'm applying next week for Tier 2 General extension and wanted to check whether the aspects below do not affect my application:

1\ the company stuff number decreased since my first Tier 2 General visa and issue of new CoS. Our CEO only kept the core team and made many redundant.
2\ we gave up 1 of our offices (but still kept others at the same address)

Can you pls confirm if the above needs mentioning to the UKBA and proof provided or is it something they will know themselves?

Thank you very much. All other info is the same as per my CoS and i'm ready to apply,

Kind regards,
Maggie

if there is any change in the company's address they have to report it to UKVI.

you don't need to mention any of this when you apply

Thank you very much Manci. I've decided to apply by post rather than online. Can you please confirm whether I need to do tuberculosis test as the website says - I am a national from the country listed but it also aays for people entering the UK and i've already been living here since 2008?

Thank you!

Dear Manci. I have applied for T2 General extension 2 weeks ago and did my Biometrics submission. My sponsor just emailed me saying they received an e-mail from the Boarder Agency regarding immigration and a health care surcharge. I was not aware of it when I applied, can you please advise me how do I pay for it now that my application is already with UKBA or is it my Sponsor who has to pay for that? If I can pay, can you please advise me how to proceed as my sponsor says that you have to pay the surcharge up front with an application to extend your stay.

Thank you so much!
Kind regards,
Maggie

the health surcharge is £200 p.a. but it only starts from 6 April 2015:
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... b_v1.2.pdf
the sponsor may have received a general email about the health surcharge and if you applied before 6 April you shouldn't be required to pay it. Ask the sponsor about the contents of the email they received

Thank you so much!
Kind regards,
Maggie

The health surcharge is to be paid only for applications made on or after 6 April 2015. Since you have already applied, you do not have to worry about it.

Dear Manci, I got my visa refused because my salary should be £40,700 and I earn £35,000, I got 14 days for administrative review, can my sponsor change my salary now or it is too late?
Thanks,
Rose
